Emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) are a type of birth control medication that can be taken after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. They work by delaying or preventing ovulation, the release of an egg from the ovary, and therefore preventing pregnancy.

ECPs are only effective if taken within a specific timeframe, typically within 72 hours of unprotected sex. The earlier the pill is taken, the more effective it is at preventing pregnancy.

Contraceptive failure or having unprotected sex can be a stressful situation.  Sometimes getting to the Doctor is not always possible. An accredited ECP pharmacist is available for consultation. Refer to the list of pharmacies below offering ECPs.

Living Rewards members receive 10 Living Rewards points when they receive their emergency contraceptive pill.
