Using sunscreen for sun protection | Life Pharmacy
The sun emits different levels of radiation, with UVA and UVB responsible for sunburn and melanoma. Apply a 'broad- spectrum high SPF' sunscreen to all uncovered skin 15-20 minutes before going out, and reapply every two hours during the day, and after swimming or sweating. Be generous with each sun cream application - use a teaspoon for your front and back torso and for each arm and leg, and half a teaspoon for the face, neck and ears. Tinted sunscreens are a great alternative to foundation for your summer holiday. Sun tan lotion has a use-by date so remember to check the expiry date and replace it if it is out of date. Life Pharmacy stocks all the best sunscreen brands including Neutrogena, Sunsense, Invisible Zinc, NZ Cancer Society, Daylong, Nivea and more.
