Urinary Tract Infection Antibiotics Consult (Under 16 years old)

Do you think you may have a bladder infection?

These can also be called Urinary Tract Infections, Cystitis or UTIs. No matter what you call them, the symptoms are uncomfortable. At Life Pharmacy, your Pharmacist can discuss your symptoms with you in a private area.  

At selected Life Pharmacy stores, our trained Pharmacists are able to offer antibiotic treatment for UTIs where appropriate without the need for a prescription. Your Pharmacists will work through a thorough checklist with you to ensure the medicine is right for you.

The treatment, a three-day course of antibiotics, is available to women between the ages of 16 and 65 who are not pregnant. They may also suggest some other options for you to consider.

Urinary Tract Infection Antibiotics Consult (65 Years and Over)

We can provide Nitrofurantoin for eligible patients for Urinary Tract Infection including people 65-74 years old

Eligible Persons: People = 65 years and less than 75 years of age, who are assessed as having an uncomplicated UTI.

Uncomplicated UTI with two or more of the following symptoms: Painful urination, urinary frequency and/or urgency, suprapubic pain.

The cost is for a 15-minute consultation plus the cost of the medicine itself (if eligible). "
