Australian made, DermaScar gels have been formulated with medical grade silicone, which is the recommended first line therapy for scar treatment. Unlike other brands, Dermascar offers an enhanced formula with Vitamin E and Vitamin C to lighten and hydrate the scar for enhanced healing.
DermaScar’s medical grade silicone barrier acts to raise the temperature of the skin underneath it, to reduce water loss and improve the hydration of the scar tissue and surrounding skin. These localised actions combine to return the skin's barrier to a normal state and reduce the production of collagen (the building block of scar tissue). By reducing the excessive production of collagen, the raised scar will start to flatten and become paler and more flexible.
