Solgar Full Spectrum Curcumin contains a turmeric extract. Curcumin is a pigment found in turmeric that gives it its golden colour. Curcumin is a fat-soluble compound and; like other fat-soluble nutrients; goes through a number of steps prior to its absorption. Most notably; the formation of micelles that serve to encapsulate fat-soluble compounds enabling them to be transported through the water-based environment of the gut. Solgar Full Spectrum Curcumin contains biomimetic micelles; meaning they mimic micelles created naturally during the digestive and absorptive processes. They are also fully soluble in water and small enough to support delivery of curcumin to the intestinal wall. There; the micelles break apart supporting absorption of curcumin. Turmeric contains antioxidants and is used to support general comfort in the body.
